 | | | The entry period for the Guardian Student Media Awards 2008 has now closed. The shortlist will be published in MediaGuardian during September.
| | Do you want to make it happen in media? Then you've come to the right place. For the last 30 years Guardian Student Media Awards have sought out the best student writers, designers, broadcasters, editors and photographers.
The awards have helped make media moguls out of mere mortals, including those of high-profile winners such as Andrew Rawnsley, Mark Frith, Rankin, Jonathan Freedland, Rachel Newsome and Emily Barr.
Alongside cash prizes, there is a chance to win work experience stints at the Guardian and Sky News, as well as a six month internship as an NME blogger.
As well as choosing individual category winners, the panel will select one overall winner who displays outstanding talent and promise. That person will undertake an extended six-week work placement at the Guardian, and receive a subsistence allowance of £1,650.
There's no better way of kick-starting your career in the media. So if you are a writer, designer, broadcaster, photographer or editor, stop thinking about it, and make it happen. | | | How to enter
