Brown tipped to launch new men's magazine

James Brown, the maverick former Loaded editor, is poised to return to men's magazine publishing.

I Feel Good, the magazine publishing company Mr Brown now runs, is planning a mature men's lifestyle title in the same mould as IPC's Later.

Mr Brown, the godfather of the lad's mag and chief executive of I Feel Good, which publishes HotDog magazine, refused to comment on his plans.

He said: "We're a publicly listed company and we have to tell the stock market before we tell the press.

But I Feel Good is recruiting for "the best young magazine editor in the business", as well as journalists, a publisher and art staff.

And industry sources say Mr Brown is putting together ambitious plans for a lifestyle title aimed at older men.

I Feel Good, formed last year with £2m of venture capital from investors including Dennis Publishing chief executive Felix Dennis, already publishes the official Leeds United magazine, Leeds, Leeds, Leeds, and a film magazine, Hotdog.

The company is already behind on its stated plan to launch a further two magazines by the end of this year.
