Big Brother website opens for business

If you can't wait until Saturday night to find out how the housemates are settling in to the all-new Big Brother house then steer yourself towards the website, at channel4.com/bigbrother

This year's site, designed again by Victoria Real, is a big improvement on the frustratingly clunky service Channel 4 presented last year.

The design is simple with fewer fancy graphics than last year. The site is well organised into logical sections such as "watch live", polls, updates and playtime (games).

This time around, there is more access to the contestants. Not only does the website stream the audition tapes, but viewers can choose to follow a contestant around through the new "Fan Cam" facility.

So far this morning Helen, a 22-year-old hairdresser, has bonded with Amma, a 22-year-old table dancer and everyone loves the new-look house.

Stuart, the 36-year-old PR director, turned up in a wide-boy suit and got a few funny looks from his fellow contestants, while Helen admitted how scared she was at being doorstepped by the Mirror this morning.
