Torn newspaper reports about Jill Dando's death and written references to other women celebrities were found at the flat of the jobless man accused of murdering the TV presenter, the Old Bailey heard today.
"There were two copies - one torn - of the Metro newspaper referring to the death of Jill Dando," said Orlando Pownall prosecuting.
He listed other items found including "a hand-written note re-Maggie Cook at the London Programme."
There was also a note referring to Sue Richardson Features at LWT. Also found were photo cards for Emma Freud and Anthea Turner.
Mr Pownall alleged police discovered a list of film and television personalities, with the names of Brit Ekland in one column and Suzanne Dando.
In addition there was a list of models with some details of homes addresses, agencies and newspapers.
"You may think it follows the defendant would look at individuals that caught his eye and make a list," said Mr Pownall.
He was continuing opening the prosecution case against Barry George, 41, who denies shooting Miss Dando through the head as she crouched on the doorstep of her home in Gowan Avenue, Fulham, south west London, in April 1999.
The prosecution alleges that George had an obsession with the Army, guns and celebrities. He had allegedly claimed to be the cousin of the singer with Queen - the late Freddie Mercury - and called himself Barry Bulsara.
When police searched his flat they found a number of things relating to weaponry and the Army, the court has heard. In addition were "other relevant items", said Mr Pownall.
They allegedly included a handwritten note bearing reference to the Big Breakfast - giving a number - and Carlton News London Tonight.
There was a piece of paper headed: "I have got a secret. Room 408" with a hand-written reference to the BBC, a calling card in the name of George with handwritten note detailing "Breakfast News", hand-written references to GMTV and phone numbers and a map showing the location of the BBC shop.
